Community
MBC employs more than 30 people from the local area, with members of the Calleja family also having resided in Bacchus Marsh and Maddingley for over 40 years.
The MBC team has been embedded in the local community for more than 70 years, and we pride ourselves on making valuable contributions to the area.
MBC has a well-established Community Consultative Committee, which operates on the basis of trust, respect and transparency. Please see below for more information.
We also invest in community groups and organisations through sponsorships and donations.
Examples of recent support include:
Investment in the Darley community with the financing of the Darley Community Hub, in conjunction with Darley Football Netball Club, Moorabool Shire Council and the State Government
Sponsorship of 30+ local sporting and community groups, including the Darley Market
Investment in the Moorabool Development Fund over the last thirty years
Delivering educational programs to support circular economy initiatives
Darley Football Club Reserves.
MBC Community Consultative Committee
The MBC Community Consultative Committee (CCC) provides members of the community with an opportunity to engage with MBC.
Since 2015, the CCC has served as a valuable ongoing point of contact with the community. The Committee members bring information or requests from the broader community, and work with each other to finalise requests. The Committee can also help MBC to provide information to the community about activities on site and consult the community about those activities.
Our well-established committee operates on the basis of trust, respect and transparency. We are committed to building strong, trusted relationships with our local community, and value this platform for listening to their ideas, feedback and concerns.
If you are interested in joining the MBC CCC, please contact us here.
The committee meets quarterly to discuss any developments, issues or concerns.

The David Calleja Memorial Car Show
More than Motor Cars!
The David Calleja Car Show
The David Calleja Memorial Car Show was established as a memorial to David Calleja.
David was a long-time benefactor of the Bacchus Marsh Hospital and took significant pride in the Bacchus Marsh Community. The Calleja Family decided to continue David’s support of the Bacchus Marsh Hospital and use the show as a key fundraising opportunity for local health services.
David was an avid car collector and had a considerable stable of rare and unique cars, which the Calleja family display in the show.
The David Calleja Memorial Car Show was held annually until 2019, but has not been resumed since the COVID19 pandemic.

Sponsorship
Calleja Group collaborated with the Darley Football & Netball Club to deliver the remaining funding to complete major redevelopments for club facilities. The Calleja Group was pleased to support the redevelopment of the Darley clubrooms and the establishment of a state-of-the-art sporting hub, which was completed in 2023.
We are pleased to be investing in this important redevelopment project that will strengthen social and sporting connections for Darley, Bacchus Marsh and surrounding communities.
