MBC are currently accepting waste in stage 2 of the landfill. The original landfill cell at MBC has reached its final waste elevations and is undergoing rehabilitation.
The first stage 2 cell was opened in 2019 and is almost at capacity. The newest landfill cell has been constructed and is awaiting EPA approval. It is expected to open in the first quarter of 2022.
MBC will commence design of future landfill cells, extending the life of the landfill to 2043.
